MEDITATION – LET’S CLEAR UP THE CONFUSION

26th Feb, 2024 by Dinishika

There is much confusion in the yoga world regarding meditation and for any real “progress” to be made in Self-Understanding this has to be clearly understood.

There are so many practices that come along under the title of meditation but really they are no more than “character self-improvement” or “how can I manifest more for myself ” techniques. The problem with all these techniques is that through them the ego grows bigger and bigger as your standing in the world “improves”

One enjoys the compliments “oh aren’t you doing well” or “how did you become so successful?” etc. The resulting happiness from self-improvement techniques can only be temporary. And there is no possibility of Permanent Transformation.

What I call “real” Meditation (Dhyan) is something totally different and Transformation is a real possibility.
One investigates who they truly are, what is …

Storehouse consciousness

11th Jan, 2024 by Dinishika

“REST IN THE NATURE OF ALAYA, THE ESSENCE”

How often do you ask: “How are you?”,  when you pick up your phone?

And how often do you hear ”Good”?

Our automatic responses are called: Alaya Vijnana, the storehouse of consciousness.

Those robot like responses, those irritation’s at home, or at work, are almost always regarding the same subjects, or around the same colleague, or about yourself, and these automatic responses spring from ’the storehouse’.

If we manage to relax truly in this moment, and have the courage to breath there, we can allow this brain connection to dissolve. It is only you who can do this for yourself, and it is only me, who can do this for myself.

Alaya is the aware crossroad we can take, to allow habitual responses to dissolve out of the storehouse. …

18 days of Earth

14th Aug, 2023 by Dinishika

18 days of Earth

According to Classical Chinese Medicine, we entered 18 days of the Earth element form the 21 of July until the 7th of August. In this period it has been beautiful to connect our beings with the element and with Mother Earth. Finding inner stability, unconditional love and empathy. Here below you find all the 18 days and their description.

Day 1

Welcome to an 18 day period of harmonising with the Earth Element!

We are as human beings under the influence of the Elements, and their changes. Even if we can’t feel it anymore, because of modern living. Receiving the beauty of Earth, she is the teacher of abundance.

To nurture, to nourish yourself and others, to receive and respond are all expressions of Earth
According to Classical Chinese Philosophy.

The Summer starts in the first week of May. …

How Has It All Come To This – Making Moutains Out Of Molehills And Molehills Out Of Nothing?

3rd Jul, 2022 by Dinishika

The Ego needs problems to exist but in Suchness, your True nature, there are no problems,
You thus make little problems out of Nothing and keep looking at them and they grow bigger.
We cannot function without problems, so we create molehills out of Nothing and by and by, we create mountains out of molehills!

Then we go to the doctor, the therapist, the guru, the teacher, the coach and ask how can I live with this mountainous problem!

And then this non-existent problem grows bigger again, until completely consumes us.

And now our ego has become so big through our problem. Yes, it seems the ego needs problems.
What to do about it?

If one can understand this movement in consciousness completely then we can do something about reversing this chronic situation.

With the correct and persistent approach to …

Pondering Over The Value Of Emptiness – Sunyata

24th Jun, 2022 by Dinishika

Another story from Lieh-Tzu …..

A student asked Lieh-Tzu – “Why do you value emptiness?”

Lieh-Tzu replied – “Most people like to be praised. They feel good when their accomplishments are acknowledged. However, I feel we would be better off if we were empty of attachments and not imprisoned by recognition, approval, and disapproval. In the long run, we’d have fewer things to worry about. That’s why I value emptiness.”

Lieh -Tzu paused and then continued, “Even if you were given credit for doing something, you should realize that it was not entirely your own doing. Events occur because conditions are right, and your action only contributes to one of the many conditions. We are accustomed to thinking that when things happen, they are our ‘accomplishments‘; we don’t understand that there is actually nothing to accomplish. …

Lieh-Tzu

14th Jun, 2022 by Dinishika

The three main texts that represent Taoism are often cited as –

  1. Lao-Tzu’s Tao te Ching
  2. Chuang-Tzu
  3. Lieh Tzu

Chuang-Tzu and Lieh-Tzu are the purported names of the authors and the sacred texts are of the same name.

On our last online Taoist study, we meditated over Lao-Tzu’s Tao te Ching.
I wish to now introduce you to Lieh-Tzu. The Lieh-Tzu is a collection of stories and philosophical musings of a Taoist sage who lived around the fourth century BCE. Reading one story after another one begins to get a deeper, intuitive feeling of what the Tao is – after pondering over the simple stories.

A story from Lieh-Tzu

“Musician Wen learns to play the lute”

Along time ago there was a musician who could charm birds and fish into dancing with his music. A lute player named …
