Introduction
“Secret of the Golden Flower” A 10-week online study with simple but profound meditation practices from this ancient Taoist text.
THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER, is one of the eternal sources from where we can receive inspiration and precise instruction on how one can find the door to return to their innocence and happiness, where one can return to the divine within themselves.
This ancient Taoist treatise, more than twenty-five centuries-old clearly points the way with complete instructions and advice on simple but profound practices, how we can become free from the blindfold of mind and emotions, so we can live a life of pure and lasting contentment in all circumstances.
The Golden Flower symbolises the full flowering of a human’s consciousness. It works with the seed of our potential (which is surrounded by ignorance), to Oneness, the Full Flowering of human Potential and Perfection.
In Yoga, The Golden Flower is known as Sahasara (Thousand Petalled Lotus Flower) and in Patanjali’s Eight Steps of Yoga system, it is the final step called Samadhi.
It shows the way a practitioner can break out of one’s seed of potential and how to allow the seed to sprout and then bloom into one’s Golden Flower!
This ancient esoteric treatise was transmitted by word of mouth for centuries before being recorded on a series of wooden tablets in the eighth century. When a sacred treatise is communicated by an Enlightened Master orally it is truly alive and growing, thus over the centuries this Chinese Scripture was influenced by the likes of Bodhidharma, who visited China during the 5th or 6th century and was accredited with introducing Buddhism to China. When such profound teachings were introduced to China they obviously were added to The Secret of the Golden Flower.
